Terracube’s Sorting Centre wants to contribute to sustainable development and climate change solutions by applying the \u201cPrincipes 3R-V\u201d: reduce, reuse, recycle and reclaim.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Collection of your materials<\/p>\n

Either we collect your materials through our dumpsters<\/a>, from other company's bins, or by bringing your materials (car or trailer) directly to the sorting centre.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

Materials categorized and weighed<\/p>\n

The clerk at the balance determines the type of category of materials brought in (for example, CRD, mixed, wood, asphalt, etc.). The dumpster or the trailer is then weighed on entry and exit, on a scale that is certified annually by Measurement Canada. The difference in weight and the type of materials will determine your costs.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

All the materials received are then sorted into piles or in dedicated dumpsters that follow environmental standards.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

History of Terracube’s Sorting Centre<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In business since 2008, Mr. Gilles Forget and Ms. Carole Rochon have seen their companies evolve with time and the demand. Their business activities are part of an era of recycling dry materials. There was no place to dispose of construction, renovation and demolition (CRD) materials in the Haute-Gatineau territory, and the idea of Terracube\u2019s Sorting Centre had been germinating in their heads for several years.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_grid” el_class=”padding-top-100 debuts-humbles”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text el_class=”toptitle”]HUMBLE START<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In 2017, the two owners bought a piece of land in Denholm, and from there, the official procedures began. Everything must comply with environmental standards. In the summer of 2018, they obtain their accreditation certificate from the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change.<\/p>\n

A lot of time has passed between the blasting, the construction of the sorting centre’s infrastructure, and the pandemic. Still, in March 2021, they are proud and happy to finally open their doors to receive their first customers and start making a difference for the environment and surrounding communities.<\/p>\n

In the long term, Terracube’s Sorting Centre would like to partner with universities and college researchers to put into practice new technologies or processes in material recycling. Terracube is a member of the 3R MCDQ (Regroupement des R\u00e9cup\u00e9rateurs et des Recycleurs de Mat\u00e9riaux de Construction et de D\u00e9molition du Qu\u00e9bec).<\/p>\n

After 12 months of operation, Terracube aims to obtain the recognition of the CRD Sorter issued by Recyc-Quebec, which seeks to recognize facilities that have best practices.
